This is Cupcake - Berlin's first and only cupcake shop. And it blows away many cupcake shops I've been to in the States. On cobblestoned Krossenerstraße in the hip district of Friedrichshain, the welcoming pink and white sign beckons you to take a look. There's seating outside and inside the comfy cafe where cupcakes take center stage. Every perfectly-sized, perfectly-sweet cupcake has a name like "Pretty in Pink", "Peppermint Party", and "Hot Chocolate" and they also bake up a variety of Vegan cupcakes. Some of the selection changes seasonally and Cupcake also offers cheesecakes, brownies, mini cupcakes (Babycakes), grilled cheese sandwiches, PB&J, coffees, lattes, and several different chai lattes. Upon request, you can special order the colors, frostings, and cakes of your choice which even includes lactose- and gluten-free options. At 2,50 Euro a cupcake, everyone needs to check out this hidden gem.
