Amsterdam
Amsterdam

Sure, thousands visit here each year to enjoy the city’s countless coffeeshops and infamous Red Light District, but Amsterdam has so much more to offer than just bongs and broads.  While cheap thrills abound among the endless nightlife, those of you looking for higher learning needn’t look farther than a canal or two down the road.

Culture prevails throughout the city’s museums, galleries, and exhibits. No where else will you find more Van Gogh's, counter culture museums, or the home of Rembrandt himself.  However, in this 17th century city, some of the most beautiful works of art are not on display in its museums or galleries, but in its streets. Decide for yourself on the city's preferred mode of transportation, cycling. Whether you're down for a simple city tour or game for something a little more mischievous, like a coffeeshop crawl, there's no better way to get around.

Living below sea level, A'damers have become masters at creating waterways, man-made islands, and the picturesque canals that are synonymous with this city, so much so that it has been dubbed the ‘Venice of the North.’  And rightly so. However, Dutch ingenuity does not stop there.  Amsterdam is a capital of design on par with Paris or Milan.  This propensity for style can been seen everywhere, from the fashion and furniture on display in the city’s shopping districts, to the Golden Age architecture of its pre-war buildings and luxury accommodations.

When it comes to food and dining, everyone’s present at this table.  Being the tolerant city that She is, Amsterdam has become a melting pot of culture and cuisine.  The result is in a fusion of flavors from restaurants as innovative and varied as any across the continent. So have your fun, but be sure to look beyond the red haze that can cloud your vision here.  There's a whole city out there waiting to be explored.
